As the season starts to roll from the heat of summer into the crisp morning air of fall, our season here at Simple Pleasures Catering is also changing. There is a crisp new feel here at our family business and we are so excited to share all that is going on in our family with yours. For those of you who have had your children raised in family business and remember well when they go out on their own, and then the feeling of excitement when they return, with honed skills, fresh ideas and a feeling of pride and commitment......that is exactly how I felt last January when my daughter-in-law, Erica Burke, joined our team as our administrative guru extraordinaire! She has such a finesse with numbers and organizational skills that she had our processes running like smooth icing on a butter cream frosted cake. And then, just last month, I had the wonderful pleasure of having our extended family member, Rebecca Alexander (Romer) join us in our expanding adventure of Event Design and Planning. Rebecca is the oldest daughter of my dear friends Mark & Debby Romer, and many of you had the pleasure of Debby's service in our restaurant in years past. I have had the opportunity to watch her blossom into an amazing woman, wife, mother, friend. Rebecca brings so much experience with her in the area of fine dining, food service, hospitality and catering, but the aspect I am more excited about is her background in design. Rebecca graduated from CSUS School of Interior Design with Influence in Architecture in 2009 and combined with her knowledge and experience in food service we are excited to offer these skills as we expand our Event Planning Services to you. For many of our corporate clients who have had an opportunity to work with our Planning Services over the years, I am happy to tell you Rebecca brings a fresh perspective, new look and amazing talent to our team. With that being said, we now have the ability to offer a full line of services to you from our in-house team, allowing a one-stop-source for your events. Everything from graphics design for your personalized invitations, event management/planning to make your party run smoothly, space design to create that stunning atmosphere, floral design for that special detail and fabulous food/beverages to make you sing and dance, we have it all!!! As our 35th anniversary approaches on October 9th, I am thrilled to report that somethings do get better with age, and Simple Pleasures Restaurant & Catering is definitely one of those things. Thank you for your loyal support over all of our changing seasons, be blessed in your ventures and allow us the opportunity to help make your occasions ones to remember.
A quote by Denis Waitly as a parting note/food for thought:
"The season for enjoying the fullness of life - partaking of the harvest, sharing the harvest with others, and reinvesting & saving portions of the harvest for yet another season of growth"
In June, we were privileged to cater a brunch for a lovely couple celebrating their 50th Wedding Anniversary...when we got their thank you card, I thought I have to post this because most of our posts have to do with weddings, and not our mouth-watering breakfasts. So, here's what the Neves family has to say, "Everyone loved the breakfast! Especially the baked bluberry frenchtoast (a secret family recipe that even we enjoy at all our family holiday parties)!! You and your staff are superb!" Well, here's the proof, we've done it again. Thank you to the Neves family for sharing their thoughts!
"A Taste Of Excellence" is Sierra College Foundation's annual fundraiser to support program expansion on campus. Every year Simple Pleasures partners with these wonderful people to help them raise money for their students. This year's event was simply: "A Perfect Ten"...years that is, of excellence in education! It turned out beautifully. http://www.cateringbysimplepleasures.com/photos/a_taste_of_excellence_at_/
A recent client sent us this very special thank you card: "I want to thank you for the incredible party...your menu was gourmet! Everyone commented on how delicious the food was, including the blood orange margaritas! You and your whole crew were so nice, polite and professional and the clean up job was so well done. You wouldn't have known we had a party." Cindy Fehrenbacher
